Trip to Palace Stables Heritage Centre
On Thursday 27th February the P7 class went on a school trip to the Palace stables Heritage Centre in Armagh to take part in the 'Boxes in the Attic' programme. They had great fun learning what life was like in the Victorians Period of history. They pretended that they were living in the 1890's and they experienced what school was like back then! They also met the Butler of the Palace, played different street games, guessed what different artefacts were and what they would have been used for. We also went on a mystery tour to the Primate's Chapel, the Conservatory - where the Archbishop tried to grow grapes to make into wine - the Whistling Tunnel and into the Smoking Room(Ice- House) - where they preserved food, the Coachman's kitchen and the Palace Stables. It was a fantastic day of active learning, ending with fun time in the play park!
