Tens Foundations come to school
Mrs Murray met with Ian Campbell today to discuss hosting an educational workshop for the children in Dromintee PS. As we are enrolled on the Global Learning programme and are aiming to achieve Green Flag status this year with our Eco Committee, we wanted to make the children aware of fantastic charities in the community who aim to help others less fortunate than ourselves.
Ian's charity- Ten Foundations. org ( NIC 100909) sells school bags, lunch bags, shopping bags, swimming bags and pencil cases. They are all made by people in the Philippines. Ian has built new homes and safe work environments for these families and provides them with a breakfast and lunch. Any money made from the sale of a bag goes straight into the livelihood programme.
We already have two girls in the school with Tens bags already! Both ladies are also on the Eco Committee- excellent role models to all.
On Thursday 18th October, Ian will be in talking to the children and if anyone wishes to purchase an item can do so on the day with Mrs Murray or make an order.
THERE IS NO OBLIGATION TO BUY!
Prices range form £5 to £20.
