Planning for our first assembly of the year
Today we began our meeting, with our previously trained Anti-Bullying Ambassadors training our new members. We discussed the differences between a ‘bystander’ and ‘upstander’ and how it is important that we are an ‘upstander’ if we see bullying happening. Our newly appointed joint Anti-Bullying Ambassador leaders were announced. More details will be given at our first assembly which we also planned for today. This will be held on Friday 4th October. During this assembly we will introduce the new team to the whole school, recap on our role, discuss how our peers can let us know if they have a problem or worry and talk about some of our plans for the year ahead.
We discussed how we will start the year spreading positivity and happiness, by celebrating 'World Smile Day' on Friday 4th October. The Team will be offering 'smiley selfies' during break and lunch time in the playground, using funny masks and props. We also talked about how next Thursday 10th October, is World Mental Health Day. We discussed how some people may be afraid to talk about their problems and the effect this can have on how they feel. We hope that all the pupils of our school know that if they have a problem, they can come to talk to the Pastoral Care Team/Anti-Bullying Ambassadors, the Safeguarding Team or any of the safe adults in our school.
