Planning for Christmas events: Compliment Stockings and Shoe Box Appeal
Today at our Pastoral Care Team meeting, PCT/ABA planned our activities for December. We began by creating our compliments for our Christmas stockings. Each class from P1-7 will receive a class stocking filled with compliments. Each day a number of pupils will pick a compliment for themselves. This is to share some Christmas cheer and spread happiness during the festive period. Every pupil will have an opportunity to select a compliment during the month of December.
Pupils also created posters for our Shoe Box Appeal. This week letters were sent home to each family from the PCT/ABA, informing parents of our Shoe Box Appeal again this year for ‘Newry Helping the Homeless.’ One of our members Jack, is a volunteer for this charity and he has been able to give us useful advice with regards to what objects are permitted in to the boxes. PCT/ABA posters will be displayed throughout the school next week and pupils will be encouraged to take part with their families. We already have our first box waiting in the Reception area! All shoe boxes should be returned to school by Wednesday 5th December: 3pm. Last year we collected an amazing 111 shoe boxes. We would love to equal or even pass this total. Thanking our families in advance.
