P5 mummification investigation
19th Jun 2018
Today in class we had 29 embalmers who had the task to mummify their own tomato. The child had to scoop out the inside, remove as much moisture as possible and then embalm their tomato with salt. The tomatoes were then sealed in an air tight container - which acts like the tomb. The children had a fantastic time and enjoyed the gooeyness of it all!
We shall check our tomatoes each day to see if the decaying process has started. We want to find the best embalmer who can preserve their "tomato mummy" for the longest. Who needs the Valley of the Kings- we have the Valley of Dromintee.
