P1 Memories of our First Year in Dromintee Primary School 2019-20
Dear P1 Parents,
The end of the year is always bittersweet, this year more than ever! Myself and Donna are so thankful that we had the opportunity to interact with and teach the most wonderful class of Primary 1 boys and girls in 2020. We are truly blessed with fantastic pupils and parents in Dromintee Primary School.
Although our final term wasn’t quite as we planned I am extremely proud of you for all your dedication to ‘continued learning’ at home since we left our lovely classroom in March. My enormous gratitude to both pupils and parents who delighted me with regular supportive e-mails, beautiful photographs of all the wonderful new experiences that were happening at home and in gardens~ the tooth fairy even made an appearance twice and to all of us for taking on the challenge of remote learning whilst juggling additional parental roles and jobs. You are all WONDERFUL!
By now everyone should have received: (i) your child’s school report, (ii) a welcome letter from your new teacher Mrs Fearon, who I know is so excited to be teaching you next year and (iii) a little memento of P1 from myself and Donna. Have fun planting your ‘magic’ seeds- I can’t wait to see some photographs of what appears!
To our wonderful P1 pupils, (please read to your child)
I have missed you all so much this past few months~ your happy faces coming in through the door in the morning, your super singing brightening up our day and most of all the excellent manners and behaviour in P1 which made every day an absolute joy. I hope you too will always remember happy memories from your time in P1. It has not been easy as I am sure you missed your friends, trips to the park and swimming pool (a weekend favourite pastime for lots of pupils) it has been difficult for Mrs Mc Ardle, Donna and of course let’s not forget Peter Rabbit who misses you too. My boys have been taking good care of him and he’s had many an adventure here with us in Dromintee. If we cross our fingers, toes and say a little prayer every day hopefully we will all be back to normal soon.
Enjoy a super break from lots of school work during the Summer holidays, but if you can please just go over a little bit of work when your mum and dad tells you for 5-10 minutes every day as it will help your brain to remember important information when you are in ‘Big P2’ in September.
Have a brilliant, happy summer with your families. Remember to keep safe: especially on farms, around water and roads.
Enjoy watching the little clip about your journey through P1.
Take care and God bless,
Big virtual hug from
Mrs Mc Ardle, Donna, Roisin (our St.Paul's placement student) and Peter Rabbit
