Fire Safety talk
P5 had an unforgettable experience with the fire fighters that visited DPS today. We learned about the importance of testing our smoke alarm, closing doors at night to stop fire from spreading and the importance of having a plan in place with all family members, so they are aware of the family assembly point.
We role played situations of making a 999 call and how to give your exact address.
We watched videos of real life situations and the importance of checking for obvious signs of fire hazards.
Coming up to Halloween we also got good advice- to Stop, Drop and Roll if our costume were to go on fire.
Please use this opportunity to discuss the dangers of fireworks and fire with your child.
We finished the day off going into the fire engine and squirting the water hose!
