Dromintee Blitz
We had a fabulous morning at Droim an Tí GAA grounds today. The buses, cars and coaches arrived in great numbers. We were blessed with the sunshine and a dry day. It was so rewarding to see the enthusiasm of participants.
I would like to thank the underage development coaching team at Dromintee CLG for organising the fixtures, helping to referee and generally supporting us throughout the year. It is a true example of the school and community working closely together. Aidan O’Rourke is always helpful and enthusiastic in supporting and encouraging school activity. He noted the high level of skill and commitment from all the schools. He remarked the high number of girls’ teams from all the schools today was impressive.
Thank you to Ard Mhacha academy coach Greg McCabe for coaching throughout the year and for your attendance today. We owe a great debt of gratitude to our colleague Geraldine McCoy who helps with the teams, is supportive and encouraging of all we do…….AND took all the jerseys home to wash them tonight!
The skills and attitudes developed by the coaching teams inside school and in our clubs was very evident on the field today. There was exceptional behaviour in evidence across all the pitches. I am always in awe of our pupils whether out at an event or here in school. Today I extend that awe to include all the pupils who attended from all the schools.
We had an exceptional blitz and it was down to you all for coming and participating. Thank you to all the teachers, classroom assistants and parents who attended and supported today. We look forward to coming to visit some of your schools in the months ahead.
