The primary four children are continuing to participate in the ‘Do This in Memory’ programme which is a pre-sacramental parish-based initiative. The children took part in the Mass, planned by Fr Seamus and the parents, and revisited their first Sacrament – their Baptism. They said the bidding prayers, took part in the offertory, took symbols and a photograph of their baptism to the church for the Kidszone. Their candle burned throughout Mass and they took the latest copy of ‘Grapevine’ home from Mass with them. The children were delighted to join Fr Seamus on the altar for his homily and also to sing the closing hymn, ‘Heaven is in my Heart’ with actions. The children are really enjoying working with their parents, and Father Seamus, to prepare for the First Eucharist. Thank you Father Seamus for making the experiences so child-centred.
