The dinosaurs came back to life the past few weeks in our P1 classroom. We really loved learning more about these magnificent creatures and who knew we had so many palaeontologists among us. They shared some amazing facts, information from their non fiction books and had some lovely dinosaur fiction books sent in to read too.
We designed our own land of dinosaurs in the tuff tray to help our creativity and even included a volcano and lake. Julia helped us to make our own 3D dinosaurs. We labelled a dinosaur in Literacy and plated the dinosaur egg tricky word game; counted, sorted and added dinosaurs at Numbertime and at the Stem table top area we made dinosaurs out of cardboard that had to be able to stand up. We dug for fossils in the sand and ice.
The past few weeks have been so enjoyable exploring this child initiated topic. Our next topic focus is: Under the Sea.
