A Poem...
Hi P2 Families,
I was thinking of you all and how strange this situation is for everyone. I decided to write a little poem to record how I think some of you might be feeling.
I hope you enjoy it.
Have a nice weekend.

A Change For Me.
By Mrs. McGowan
I used to go to school each day
And see my friends, we loved to play
But since the corona virus struck
It seems we’ve had a change of luck!
We left school on Friday 14th March,
Thinking we’d be back quick smart
But little did we know back then
that we would be off until…who knows when!
They said that lockdown soon would come
And we would have to stay home with dad and mum.
Which didn’t seem so bad at first
But now sometimes I feel like I could burst.
It isn’t always easy,
but it isn’t always hard
And I never in a million years thought
I’d see so much of my back yard.
Mum says it won’t last forever,
That we should try to have some faith
And I do, most days but it’s so hard
when you miss all of your best mates.
I’m trying to keep myself busy,
with home learning and new skills
Dad says by the time this is over,
My ‘new skills’ could pay the bills!
I know this time is uncertain
And it’s important to follow the rules
So that no else gets sick from this
And soon they can reopen all the schools.
I never thought I’d say it
But I cannot wait for the day
That I can get up and put my uniform on
And head off into school, for this I will pray.
But for now, I know what I must do
For the safety and you and me
I must learn to adapt to this new change
And accept that what will be will be.
