Anti-Bullying Week Activities

17th Nov 2017

Today marked the end of Anti-Bullying Week in Dromintee Primary School. Throughout the week pupils have been exploring the theme “All Equal, All Different, All Together.” Pupils participated in PDMU lessons linked to the theme, a poster competition and concluded today with a non-uniform day to celebrate our uniqueness, likes and diversity as a school community.

The Pastoral Care Team have been busy throughout the week co-ordinating events. They judged the poster competition, picking one winner from each class. They carefully looked at the pictures and messages which they displayed and picked those which they felt best represented the theme. All pupils put a great effort into their posters and it was a difficult job to pick just one winner from each class. Well done to all those who took part.

The Pastoral Care Team also went ‘undercover’ this week looking for acts of kindness in the playground. They secretly picked one pupil from each class who displayed kindness in the playground. They awarded certificates to those pupils who they saw letting other children join in their games, those who helped others when they fell over and those who acted as role models, creating a positive and happy playground environment.

The Pastoral Care Team concluded with the message of don’t be a bystander, be an up stander. They encouraged any pupil who is feeling sad or lonely to come to speak to them or any adult in the school. Again we thank the Pastoral Care Team for their continued hard work this term.
