Anti-Bullying Ambassador Training Day

20th Sep 2017

Our newly elected Pastoral Care Team quickly began their role. Pupils attended an ‘Anti-Bullying Ambassador’ training day in Kilkeel High School on Wednesday 20th September, accompanied by Mrs Fearon and Miss McCann. Our pupils had a fantastic day working together in a small group and alongside pupils from other schools. We were the only primary school present, but our pupils demonstrated their confidence and maturity throughout all activities. Pupils were involved in games, group work and drama activities, to help them develop their knowledge and skills in the area of anti-bullying. Sophie was elected as leader within the group by her peers. A special mention of congratulations must go to Grace (P5), who received a certificate for ‘Anti-Bullying Ambassador of the Day’ demonstrating great skills and attributes for helping other young people. All pupils received their special ‘A’ symbol badge and wear it each day in school. As Pastoral Care Team members and Ambassadors, they have already begun helping as playground buddies and check the ‘worry box’ each day. Remember if you have a problem, talk to one of the team. Our ambassadors have lots of ideas for the year ahead, so as they say watch this space! We wish them well and thank them for their hard work to date.
